“Beats of Bagley” is inspired by the whitetail deer that often roam the University of Minnesota Duluth campus. For about two years I could look outside my window and watch them walk alongside sidewalks, gather on the lawns to eat, and run across streets to get back to the Bagley Nature Center; home to many of these deer. This piece is dedicated to them as a tribute to the wildlife that still walks among the industrialized parts of the land.
